Summer is right around the corner, so everyone and their mother is trying to squeeze in that last bit of Spring Cleaning. But your windows are coated in dust and pollen lingering from the late Spring. That's not a problem: we've got you covered here at Mark's Cleaning. So put the Windex and paper towels away. We'll teach a simple yet effective way to clean your windows like the pros. Some supplies you will need: a large bucket (large enough for the squeegee), a squeegee (typically 14 inches), a detachable scraper (optional for tough spots such as paint), a wet mop, and Palmolive detergent. Microfiber cloths and a ladder are also great tools to have your arsenal (more on the microfiber later). Step 1: Fill the bucket halfway with cold water and a few squirts of Palmolive. Step 2: Scrape any tough marks with the scraper in a forward motion (if you scrape backward, you'll risk scratching the glass). Step 3: Soak your wet mop in the bucket and rub the Palmolive detergent across the windows, spreading evenly. Step 4: Begin washing the glass at a 45-degree angle using a moderate amount of pressure with the squeegee. Start at the top and snake down in a reverse "S" motion. Step 5: Now is a great time to wipe the edges down with your microfiber cloth! It's perfect for any spills or water marks. Use a dirty rag at the bottom of the windows as it is a particularly dirty area. Step 6: Repeat Steps 1-5 on the interior and exterior of the windows, and enjoy the fresh, sparkling shine!
